BigRigFaults Guide

How BigRigFaults works

BigRigFaults is a heavy-duty diagnostic information platform built for truck drivers, mechanics, technicians and owner-operators. Search fault codes, understand symptoms and likely causes, use AI-assisted diagnostics, explore technical evidence and discuss real-world repairs with the community.

Step 01

Search truck fault codes

Start with the diagnostic code shown by the truck, engine ECM, scan tool or dashboard. BigRigFaults supports heavy-duty diagnostic information including SPN/FMI combinations, MID/PID/FMI codes, engine fault codes, emissions-system problems and other commercial-vehicle diagnostics.

Step 02

Use AI Diagnostics

BigRigFaults AI searches available BigRigFaults diagnostic information first and then uses AI-assisted explanations to help make technical information easier to understand. When an exact verified BigRigFaults page exists, the assistant links directly to it.

Step 03

Understand what a fault code means

Diagnostic pages are designed to explain the fault in practical language. Depending on the available evidence, a page may include the meaning of the code, symptoms, possible causes, systems to inspect, diagnostic steps and repair guidance.

Step 04

Check the technical evidence

BigRigFaults uses evidence and verification safeguards before automatically publishing diagnostic material. Technical information may include manufacturer context, service information, technical documents and independently corroborated evidence.

Step 05

Browse by truck, RV or engine

You can explore diagnostic information by manufacturer and engine family. BigRigFaults is being expanded to cover major North American commercial trucks, diesel engines, buses, coaches and diesel motorhomes.

Step 06

Ask the driver and mechanic community

The BigRigFaults community lets drivers, mechanics, technicians and owner-operators discuss fault codes, symptoms, diagnostic findings and confirmed repairs. Community experience can be valuable, but it is kept separate from verified technical evidence.

Important diagnostic limitations

BigRigFaults provides diagnostic information and educational guidance. Vehicle configurations, software revisions, wiring, calibration values and manufacturer procedures can vary by model, year and engine application. Always confirm safety-critical procedures and exact specifications using service information for the vehicle being repaired.

Manufacturer names, product names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and informational purposes only. BigRigFaults is an independent diagnostic information resource and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the manufacturers shown.
